things that are the worst: finishing a fic too late at night for any of your beta readers to be awake

So, the first thing you have to remember about Steve Rogers is this: he is always on the side of the little guy, and he hates bullies.
The second thing you have to remember is: he grew up poor, sickly and Irish in the Great Depression.
The third thing you have to remember is: he’s really, astonishingly good at adapting to his situation.
So he might not know exactly what the state of the playing field is in 2013, but he definitely, DEFINITELY knows which team he’s on.

My Steve Rogers headcanon: his parents met at an IWW rally.
So they were filming Winter Soldier in Dupont Circle last night, and while that turned out to be a disappointment (just the stunt double), it was SO WORTH IT because a guy there had somehow acquired 10 pages of shooting script and let me read them. I will not be sharing any of the actual spoilers contained therein, but I WILL reveal that the following is now canon:

winter soldier filming in DC— who’s in?
Rumor has it they’re going to be at the Lincoln Memorial tomorrow. I plan to get into DC as early as humanly possible. Who else is in?
ATTENTION DC FANGIRL ARMY
We FINALLY have dates for Captain America II filming in DC!
I just got off the phone with the DC Film Office, and learned that the Theodore Roosevelt bridge is going to be closed for filming this coming Sunday, May 5. There will be additional filming May 12-16, but locations aren’t known yet— should be posted to the Film Office website a week in advance.
Who’s in for set-stalking?

So for those who are not aware, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is going to be filming at least a few scenes here in DC. Knowing this, I have formulated a plan to (politely!) stalk the set with an army of fangirls. Towards that end, I just called the DC Film Office to see if they had any information yet.
Sadly, I was told that the film is unlikely to file a permit any sooner than 30 days in advance of filming, and they won’t know the exact dates and locations until a permit is filed and approved. However, once the permit goes through there will be details on the Film Office website.
I will be keeping an eye on the website, and will post further details as soon as they’re available. This is totally going to happen, guys, and I am SUPER EXCITED.
(My secret hope is that they’re filming flashback scenes. I am SUPER WILLING to show up to the set in 40s costume if it gets me a role as an extra. That would NOT be a hardship AT ALL.)
